Voice Students Shine it ON!

Congratulations to my voice & presentation skills students for their extraordinary successes:

*Lori Donato continues moving onward and upward with many projects! In February, she performed her new cabaret show, TIMELESS DIVAS, at Lyons’ English Grille in Palm Springs (with rave reviews!) and she helped create and starred in a Cabaret fundraiser for Palm Springs High School Performing Arts Center. In March, she and her team-mates (including Dianne Legro) launched the first ever CABARET AT SEA CRUISE aboard Carnival’s Paradise where they conducted Master Class Workshops and produced shows for the participants.

Ever busy as she continues her weekly performance schedule at the OTHER SIDE in Silver Lake and RAINBOW CACTUS in Palm Springs, Lori is gearing up for a new workshop series for singers in May. (Visit her web site for more information.) Her brand new show, LORI AND THE BOYS, opens at the Cavern Club Theatre April 29th and 30th in Silver Lake. Meanwhile, her CD - THE ROAD AIN’T NO PLACE FOR A LADY, is still enjoying airplay around the country and has been featured in Tower Records as a recommended vocalist! As a performance coach she finds her students performing consistently in the Los Angeles and Palm Springs areas.

*Dave Ferguson has enjoyed singing since he started singing in a church choir while in elementary school. He sings with the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles, the GMCLA classical ensemble, the Camarata of LA and his local church choir.

In addition to his musical involvement in the community, he also served for 6 years on the GMCLA board including 2 years as Chair, is on the Endowment Board for his congregation, chairs an Advisory Board for SDA Kinship which seeks to find ways of educating those in the church about the needs of gay and lesbian members of their congregations. 

Dave is enjoying his vocal coaching with Dianne and the challenges it provides as he moves from being strictly a classical/sacred music artist to including more contemporary sounds in his repertoire. 

*Kelly Perkins, client for speech coaching recently wowed the crowd of international doctors in Vienna. A Movie of the Week is in pre-production of Kelly’s inspiring life!

*Rosemary Gore movie headlines at Film Festival! Rosemary wrote and starred in a movie that is playing in several international film festivals and here in LA at the Laemmele Theaters.

*Jen Farmer-Booked Honda National Commercials!

*Leslie Soultanian is singing Holiday concert events all over Los Angeles this season.

*Haining Ren gets big congratulations on being cast in the lead role of Cherubino at Santa Monica College Opera Theater. Not only did she go from chorus member to LEAD in one year, The Press singled her out as the extraordinary standout of the evening! (Corsair DEC 14th 2004 )

*Laurie Bloom starred as Hannah Glawari in scintillating scenes from THE MERRY WIDOW at Santa Monica College.

*Dave Ferguson is back from a successful concert tour of China and rejoins the GCLA at Disney Hall.
